Meltech-Confex Focus on Continuous Rotary Extrusion of Aluminium and Copper Profiles at Wire 2008
The fully integrated wire and cable product line, from strand annealing furnaces, automated take-up and pay-off, and continuous rotary extrusion, is the theme of the Meltech-Confex and Meltech Engineering stand at Hall 9, Stand C73. At Wire 2008, Meltech-Confex will be announcing the latest automated coiling machine for its new MC-260 continuous rotary extrusion line, providing uninterrupted production of aluminium and copper profiles.
The technical and productivity benefits of Meltech-Confex continuous rotary extrusion are significant when compared with conventional extrusion processes. The precision of the rotary extruder, and pre and post processing ancillary equipment for handling complex and thin-walled profiles, gives manufacturers a completely integrated line for manufacture of aluminium and copper profiles, busbar and lightning conductors, as well as round and multiport tubing sections.
Meltech Engineering
With increasing competition for metal resources, the ability to streamline processes and reduce handling time is vital for wire and cable manufacturers. Meltech equipment is designed to be tightly integrated within a production line, giving the process flexibility and level of control needed to increase productivity and profitability.
Meltech Engineering's range of strand annealing machines are designed on the ‘low thermal mass’ principle and feature, multi-zone, temperature control regimes up to 1,300°C. Multi-reel, take-up and pay-off machines offer speeds up to 1,500 metre per minute with winding control, layering, speed and length control at the point of changeover. Meltech winding and coiling machines are available in drum sizes from 400mm to 6,500mm and beyond, with capacities up to 150 tonnes.
